New Managing Director For BMT Defence Services

British Maritime Technology Limited (BMT) today announced the appointment of Dr. Andrew Tyler as the new Managing Director of its largest subsidiary, BMT Defence Services.
The appointment follows the decision by BMT Defence Services’ current Managing Director, Roger Babington, to retire at the end of October 2001. Mr. Babington joined BMT in November 1998, following a distinguished career with the Ministry of Defence. Over the past two years he has taken BMT Defence Services to record levels of achievement.
Dr. Andrew Tyler will take up his new position on 1 November 2001. He is currently Managing Director of BMT Marine Information Systems, a position he has held since 1996. Dr. Tyler has been with BMT since 1989.
Dr. Owen Harrop will succeed Dr. Tyler as Managing Director of BMT Marine Information Systems. Dr. Harrop is currently Operations Director of BMT Cordah, where he has been a Director since 1996.
